Recently, The Zone Sports held its inaugural The Zone Day at Concordia College. And what a day it was!
The event, which was held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, was a day of fun for all. If you missed the event, no worries! We have your recap here.
Kickstarting the day, the Concordia College Clippers took the court against Jefferson University’s Rams mens’ basketball team for Senior Day. The game was the conclusion of Concordia’s home slate and marked a particularly special day for Clippers redshirt senior guard (and one of our phenomenal coaches) Cedrick McFadden, as it celebrated him scoring his 1,000th career point.
During halftime, the Westchester Athletics youth basketball team showcased their talent, playing in a exhibition game in front of an amped-up crowd. Keeping the momentum going, they formed a high fly line after halftime, hyping up the mens’ team up.
Other highlights of the day include Clippers Coach John Cavaliere speaking to the youth about what he looks for in a player and what it takes to compete successfully at the collegiate level, as well as an exclusive Q&A session with Cedrick McFadden.
“I hope that the youth student athletes can really take in this experience because I didn’t have access to this when I was younger,” Ivan Tchatchouwo, President, The Zone, LLC said about the event. “It’s important to expose them early on to what it’s like, as they are the future.”
